Over his 25-year career as a trial attorney, Lloyd Bell has earned a reputation as a national leader in personal injury law. With his broad courtroom experience and unwavering commitment to his clients, Bell has consistently achieved record multimillion-dollar results, including:
- $15 million medical malpractice verdict for man who suffered spinal cord injury
- $8 million verdict against gun manufacturer and pawn shop owner after handgun malfunctioned, killing 14-year-old boy
- $4.3 million medical malpractice verdict for who suffered permanent and debilitating nerve damage following stress test
- $6 million verdict against hotel for negligent security
“I enjoy fighting for the underdog,” says Bell, who has been AV Preeminent® rated by Martindale-Hubbell®—the organization’s highest rating for legal skill and ethical standards—for more than a decade. “There is no greater calling than helping people fight for the compensation they need to rebuild their lives following a devastating injury.”
Bell began his legal career as a captain in the US Army
JAG Corps, representing soldiers as trial defense counsel. After leaving the JAG Corps, Bell worked for three years as a corporate defense attorney before founding Bell Law Firm in 1999. Since then, Bell has dedicated his practice exclusively to representing people who have suffered catastrophic injury or the wrongful death of a loved one due to negligence.
During his time representing plaintiffs, Bell has secured numerous verdicts and settlements that have helped his clients rebuild their lives and meet their future medical needs. Indeed, his skill in the courtroom—developed as lead counsel in more than 80 jury trials in courtrooms nationwide—has cemented his reputation as a fearless litigator with a track record of success.
In 2016, for example, Bell achieved verdicts that were among the top results in Georgia for the year (as recognized by LexisNexis and Leaders in the Law): a $1.26 million recovery in a medical malpractice case and a $15 million verdict in a case involving a man who was rendered quadriplegic after losing consciousness and falling o exam table.
Bell credits his many notable results to the personal attention and creativity that Bell Law Firm brings to each client’s case. “By limiting the number of cases I handle, I can take the time to really know and understand my clients,” Bell says. “I’m always prepared to tell my client’s story to the jury and explain the need for full and fair compensation,” Bell says.
