Morelli Law Firm

Masters of Civil Litigation: Personal Injury, Construction Accidents, Trucking & Auto Accidents, Sexual Harassment, Defective Drug and Medical Device Litigation, and Medical Malpractice

When it comes to high-stakes litigation, Morelli Law Firm has a proven track record of success – and a history of precedent-setting verdicts. In areas ranging from workplace discrimination, to all forms of personal injury, to defective drugs and medical devices, the Morelli Law Firm consistently delivers for its clients.

“We’re well-positioned to handle any type of case,” says Benedict Morelli, the firm’s founder. “But it’s our results and unwavering commitment to our clients that makes us stand out.”

Morelli, whose results include the largest vaccine verdict in U.S. history ($22.5 million), the largest single-plaintiff sexual harassment verdict in U.S. history ($95 million), and one of the largest single-plaintiff construction accident verdicts in U.S. history ($62 million), is often called upon to manage high-profile litigation. In 2015, he secured a confidential settlement for Tracy Morgan in a highly publicized lawsuit against Wal-Mart after the comedian was severely injured in a car accident involving a Wal-Mart truck. The case was fully resolved within 10 months of the accident.

We have never been scared to take on powerful adversaries,” said Morelli, reflecting on his lawsuit against the largest company in the world. “Our firm has the experience, resources, and resolve to fight it out with anyone.”

Morelli Law Firm applies the same passion for its celebrity clients as it does for its lesser known clients. The firm is currently representing the family of a 7-year-old girl who was electrocuted after touching a public handrail at an MGM resort in Maryland. Morelli and his team have filed a lawsuit against MGM and are preparing for trial, determined to get justice for the family and girl, who will grapple with severe brain damage for the rest of her life.

Beyond handling individual cases, Morelli and his firm regularly take on far-reaching mass torts and class actions, and have been appointed to leadership roles by courts in a number of large-scale litigations. The firm, for instance, represented numerous victims who were seriously injured in the May 12, 2015 Amtrak train derailment outside Philadelphia, in which 8 people were killed and over 200 people were injured. The firm was appointed by a federal judge to be one of a few firms to lead the hundreds of plaintiffs, and was instrumental in resolving the case for $265 million – the largest train accident settlement in U.S. history. As part of the process, Morelli and team played a critical role in getting Congress to raise the federal damages cap, making a $265 million settlement possible.  Additionally, the firm has become highly involved in representing women in cases against Johnson & Johnson, alleging that their use of the company’s talcum powder caused their ovarian cancer.

“These are challenging, complex cases that require significant resources and time,” Morelli says. “But, they are also incredibly important – representative of corporate negligence that can’t go unchecked. We feel fortunate to take them on and help bring justice to deserving victims.”
